Of my older irises, the ones which continued to increase vigorously and
bloom freely were 'New Snow' (white) and an old un-named blue iris.
These were choking the others out thoroughly.
I suspected that ther were other colours, and seperated out the straggly
little plants and put them in seperate beds. They eventually bloomed
with a little extra care and I found I had about 7 different colours. I
still suspect there are some of the originals that haven't flowered
after 7 years, and am currently trying to coax some sad little plants
into producing bloom. My patience is running out, but I am hoping that
Pinnacle, Sable Night and Eleanor's Pride are still in my collection.
Jan Clark, who also has lots of yellow Gladioli, after all the reds and
blacks died out.
