Gerry,
It is accepted that the schedule is the law of the show. Reason for this
being
to avoid a problem arising. Every area has something usuallly peculiar just
in that area and no list of rules could cover this. However educating the
public
is a principal reason for our shows and to do this we must include things
special to our region.
Actually stating such exhibits can receive blue, and justly so, any other
major ribbons should be denied takes care of situations such as this. For
instance many have single bloom boxes and this particular section can
only qualify for a blue ribbon also.
Hope this makes some sense and a bit easier to go with the flow as they say.
Claire235 Isle 0f Palms, SC where all types of iris are burstin' forth except
for Japanese. Seem to have a lot of beautiful specimen bloom but my foliage
is sparse and short. I do believe the weather has had a lot to do with this.
The foliage on historics seems about normal though. Very confusing!
