OK well since Ginny has summonsed me I would like to add a couple
of ideas. LAs require both wet soil and acid soil so don't plant
them where spurias grow well. plant them with either JIs or sibs
both of which require the same environment. My DKW last year was
less than 24". Black Gamecock is going to bloom for the first time
this year. Post later ie end of July. I've 2 other LAs which I'm
testing for overwintering ability. Post later on those too.
Am looking for pink and/or white or yellow LAs hardy in zone 4. Can
anybody recommend any LA? Does anyone know if Handmaiden is hardy
in zone 4? Hopefully, TIA.
