When we were in New Mexico, our soil was so alkaline that we would have
iris with almost white leaves in the spring. The blooms did not change
color! We would have to add lots of nutrients to try to get the foliage
green again. We never had any that had the flowers revert to white. If
any thing, the blooms were a little "faded" looking, but still held
the original color.
