Somewhere in the dimly lit labyrinth of my memory is an anecdote trying to get
out concerning "white reversion".
I recall reading this somewhere and am not certain whether it was iris or
lilies.
The woman with the problem had dug up all of her rhizomes/bulbs and spread
them out on the ground. She replanted what she wanted and gave all of the
remainder to her church for fundraising.
Next year to her disappointment all she had was white flowers. She asked about
the ones that were sold and all customers had a selection of colors. It turned
out that she had picked out all of the biggest rhizomes/bulbs for herself and
gave the smaller ones to the church.
Some wag pointed out that perhaps if she had shared the big ones with th
church that The Lord might have smiled favorably on her garden.
