This is something that has occurred to me, but with my lack of iris
growing experience, I was loath to suggest. The colour change that most
gardeners would be familiar with is that of Hydrangeas. Mine went from a
lovely burgundy pink, to irridescent bright blue when we shifted here.
Black cattle will change coat colour to red, if certain
vitamins/minerals are not present in their diet. Don't quote me but I
vaguely recall Selenium/Vitamin E being the offender here.
I really think that this thread is worth persisting with, and that some
botanical, or horticultural reading would be in order for those
interested in getting to the bottom of the mystery.
