Linda, I have several purples & violets I like but most are unnamed,
having been given to me or acquired willy-nilly so it's difficult to
"recommend" them. One named one I have that I like a *lot* is ROYAL
SUMMER (Applegate '70) -- it's a deep purple bitone with especially
velvety falls & is known to be a strong rebloomer even in Zone 4 (tho
that hasn't occurred with ANY iris in my high altitude garden, yet.)
Superstition Gardens has ROYAL SUMMER on it's $3 list this year...
