CULT: Reversion to ....YELLOW!

Greetings,

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water comes a letter to
the gardening gurus into the May issue of Southern Living magazine from a
woman in Hattiesburg, Mississippi who asks:

" For a number of years, I have planted white, blue, and purple iris. The
first year after planting they bloom true. The next year, they all turn
golden. What causes this?"

I'm thinking she maybe means Dutch irises , but Eaves says he can't find any
yellow Dutch iris so who knows. The answer gurus said she had stealth yellows
mixed in and those wily bullies overran the others.

Don't you just love it?
