Karen,
Callas are not hardy in Michigan, so they are sold as container bulbs.
I would not recommend growing them in water except as an experiment. In
Kentucky, I planted Callas out in May, then lifted them in October.
When I got down here, I planted them in October. They bloomed in
March and April. They also sell Callas as container plants here, but I did
not get any more since I am interested in things that bloom longer, such as
Oleanders. They bloom a good ten months per year here.

Mark,
No one has ever accused me of NOT being naive, and I questioned this fella and
what he said right from the start. I even asked him if he was sure of what he
was talking about. ( This guy was the President of the local pond club.)
Anyway, he said that the way that he found out was by accident. That he left
them along the side of his ponds edge, forgetting about them, they fell into
the marginal area, where he later supposedly found them and they bloomed all
summer.
I just came into a free pot full of them, and I think for kicks I will try it
and let you know what happens.
