Considering the vast diversity of flowering plants grown in the coastal
areas of California, perhaps there are just too many other attractions
demanding attention for the birds and bees to be drawn to the irises.
Around here both hummingbirds and bumblebees are regular visitors to the
irises when they are in bloom.
