Now this really surprised me Walter. I thought as a hybridizer you would buy whatever you felt you needed to hybridize with - regardless of the name.
If an iris has a certain trait I want to work with, especially if it was exceptional modern form, destinctive, and/or a well reported rebloomer, I wouldn't care if it was named WALTA'S COW PIE, I'd still buy it.
Hmmm....

The following I would NOT buy because of the name. I don't care
how pretty the iris might be, I would NOT buy them.
Kitchen Sink Too
Cowabunga (Don't know what it means)
Ima Kinda Lima
Working Too Hard
Afternoon Delight
Horny Lorri
Knock "Em Dead
Pheasant Feathers (nothing with feather because of allergies)
Squeeze Louise
Choose A Juice
Pass the Shades
And others, but these came to mind quickly.
