Hello,
Firstly, i just want to comment that five in a container is problably too
many. Irises become tight and do spread out fairly quickly.
The spider like insects that you are seeing is problably spider mites. You
can try an insecticidal soap on them. If that does not work after a couple
of applications, try somethihng stronger like a diluted solution of
diazanon. Not in the heat of the day though, in the morning or later at
night.
