Back about 40 some years ago when I first started growing iris, my mentor,
the lady from whom I purchased my first plants, impressed upon me the fact
that:
1. Plant properly, don't bury them, etc.
2. Water in well!!
3. Give the plants at least one inch of water each week IF Mother Nature
doesn't provide any.
4. Once new growth becomes visible let Mother Nature take care of the
watering.
