Correct me if I'm wrong, but my impression is that if you cover
ANY leaf base, it'll be lighter after a week.
The PBFs we have, seem to vary widely -- some seem to have PBF
and it stays the same, some seem to have a bell curve of PBF,
some have PBF and it fades with the season.
They also vary by:
how high up the leaf does the PBF go
how purple-to-red-purple is the PBF
Do inside leaves have PBF or only outside leaves?
how DARK is the PBF?
UNK-ROSE GORCZYCA, an unknown I got from my late mother's garden
(very similar to PRESIDENT PILKINGTON but *not* the same),
has PBF -- in different areas of our little back yard, which
get different amounts of sun, it seems to be constant.
