Re: CULT: Borer, Merit, and Mach 2

I went to my greenhouse friends. Mach2 is fluvalinate(synthetic
pyethrin(?sp). He has used the water soluble powder fluvalinates
Mavrik and Mavrik Aqua Flow(tradenames) in the greenhouse. He was not
overly impressed with the Mavrik. As with many things, the fanfare is
greater than the results. There is also a problem associated in
delivering the fluvalinate in a high alkaline water

As I have mentioned I have used Merit for the last 4 years or so.
What I use is fabricated for lawn usage. The nicotine sulfate is
suspended in a gel, which when wet stays in place and does not flow.
Care is important as I try not to drop on rhisomes.

I have no results on the granular aplications. Here is web site:
http://www.xs4all.nl/~jtemp/fluvalinate.html
Seems somewhere I read that it has an impact on aquatic life. The
friend just his head "no" and said "what doesn't".

Hope this helps.
