I used granular merit and it seemed to work well I think I have less borer
this year and that menas bigger rhizomes. There are two kinds of merit
granular one is long acting which i used and another says it works in 24
hours. next year i will use both. and spray with Cygon 2E. I think that is
less effective here as we get so much rain.
I also have trimmed back the fans to about three inches in late October as
there is almost no more growth for the winter and hopefully eliminate eggs
laid. I will also power wash with hose jet spray the fans that are left. The
battle with the borer is ongoing. Hate those things.
