Thanks, Linda and Al, for the info.  I believe I'll stick with Merit if I 
decide to use chemical warfare against the borers next year.  I find that 
a very thorough iris bed clean-up keeps the borer population under pretty 
good control, but I'd love to eliminate them altogether.  It shouldn't be 
impossible in my location, as I have no neighbors within a mile as the 
moth flies.  Just how far is a borer moth likely to be able to fly, 
anyway?
