Finally, a decent picture of GOLDEN ALIEN has shown up on iris
photos.
GA is not a finished flower and is from an 'old mama' and an
unknown father. What is noteworthy about the flower is what
Randy Squires has called 'rosettes' on the falls. For those
interested in appendages this iris introduces a different type and has
a lot of potential for producing other forms if it is fertile.
SAs are not my favorite irises, but I have a few of interest to me.
HOWDY DO, HEARTBEAT AWAY, and GOLDEN ALIEN will stay
around here for awhile. I hope to get the latter and former crossed.
It would be great for HA to contribute to improved form and for GA
to give the 'rosettes' to a modern iris.
