MTB: Pretty Butterfly

This is a puzzle to me, and I don't have any new enough check lists to look
it up.

I find 'Pretty Butterfly' listed as being introduced in 1999 by Sass.  This
does not make sense to me, and I could swear that I was growing it before
that year anyway.  Does anybody know the story behind this one.  I'm
confused.
