Pretty Butterfly is listed in the Iris Checklist for 1999 as (Sass Brothers by Philip Edinger, R. 1999). BB, 24" (61 cm) M. S. and style arms icy lilac (RHS 76D); F. icy lilac with network of violet (82A) veining; beards yellow, end white with hairs tipped yellow. Parentage unknown, diploid. In circulation prior to 1965. Does the mention of Superstition in the 1999 R & I mean that it was registered by Edinger but introduced by Superstition? That is my understanding of how the introduction information is presented since the hybridizer, the person submitting the information for registering a cultivar and the nursery or company introducing that cultivar may each be different persons or entities.
