AIS BULLETINS: the more we know...

>I found I couldn't put it down...>

Hello Iris-Talkers: When I first began receiving the Bulletins, many of the articles seemed like 'Greek' to me and I didn't read very many of them. But then I didn't know much about iris, only that I liked to grow them. That was 5 or 6 years ago. Now, after networking with other irisarians, reading catalogs, and joining other sections with their own publications, I find my interest in all irises expanding, and the articles in the Bulletins much more interesting and informative to me. I still read certain articles first, of course, but eventually most of them. And I've since gone back and read those articles in back issues I once skipped because I didn't know anything about breeding programs, beardless irises, and a host of other topics.

The more we learn, it seems, the more we understand...and the more we want to know (in my case, at least, about irises!).

Also, thanks to those who've let us know the progress of the July Bulletin as it makes its way across the country (of course the blackout probably didn't help mail delivery here in southeast Michigan...it's a good thing the Bulletin is coming from the west!). Guess I can't use the excuse that I'm 'in the dark' any longer since our power was restored at 1:30 a.m. Sat.

Linda Bartell - (still marveling at my lovely little FOREVER BLUE ;-) Do you think they'll have to sedate me if another one reblooms? Which reminds me...Sterling Innerst's AGAIN AND AGAIN, which is still in its temporary pot pending the completion of my new bed, is putting up a bloomstalk!
