Nope! Any 24 hour period that stays below 32F for the duration is an
awfully cold spell here. Anytime it drops into the single digits it's a
major event.
The humidity I can understand. Today it never got beyond the 80s. That's
wild for August. I was taking advantage of the cool temp to do some things
I may wish I'd left 'til later, but I did them anyway. 80s or not, the
humidity was high and it seemed warmer - or at least it was more
uncomfortable - than the temp would indicate. I just hope we have an early
and very, very long fall. They are rare, but it would sure be nice.
Most folks here consider air-conditioning a necessity. I think it's not
under our normal low humidity, but there are times (say...May through Oct)
when it makes sleeping easier. I have it and it's been some years since I
didn't have it. If I had to go back to doing without it, I might find that
it was more necessary than I think.
