Re: CULT: rhizome depth

I've noticed some varietal differences in depth that rhizomes 'prefer'.

After a few years, some wind up on top of the ground, others burrow
underground. Soil texture probably has an effect on where they wind up,
but I haven't noticed that.

I've started burying them all. My observation is that <most> that can't
tolerate being buried under at least a little bit of dirt usually don't
have enough disease tolerance to do well here anyway.

And my impression is that those that are buried establish better and
make it thru our freeze/thaw winters better.
