It is my understanding that corn gluten meal (not regular old corn meal)
with at least 60% protein content is commonly used as an organic
pre-emergent herbicide. It is also my understanding that it is the high
protein that produces the herbicidal activity, so CGM with less than 60%
protein is not effective.
