SPECIES X: CLOWN PANTS

Tom sent me a note offlist, but I figured I'd give some public praise for his CLOWN PANTS, after posting that photo last year of its case of summer crud (shared by all here).

CLOWN PANTS is growing like a weed here. Let me rephrase that - in this record setting drought and continuous heat, it is growing much better than any of the weeds here, and is certainly a <lot> greener. Plus with the ongoing drought, not a speck of summer crud (i.e., near defoliating leaf spot).

Plus it came thru the late freeze with flying colors - not only bloomed after the freeze, but sent up more stalks after the first ones were open.

I thought I had a photo of it blooming - will see if I can find it.
