The arraangements and obituary notice for Mike are as follows:
GREENFIELD, Michael D. age 69, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Middletown and lived here all his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Michael was employed as a pressman at Jefferson-Smurfit for 43 years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed gardening. His specialty was Iris flowers, which he hybridized and sold all over the world on the internet. Preceding him in death were his parents, James B. and Olga M. (Nicholas) Greenfield; an infant daughter, Amy Sue; five brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sharon; one brother, Frederick Greenfield; two sisters, Janet (Joseph) Marstall and Barbara (Herb) Trimble; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Charles Denny officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown with Military Services by the Franklin V.F.W. Post 7596 Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
