OK I got it. The person that wrote the article (Dorothy Elston
CIS member from Kingston Ontario, Canada) said to make sure
the soil was soaking wet and to leave the clear plastic on for 4-6
weeks. If your soil is not in sun all day the longer the better.
She also said that only the weed seeds near the surface would have
been killed and the ones further down would still germinate. I
think this also applies to microorganisms.
