Yes, Ellen, this gives me ideas! For one, I am going to have reblooming
bearded irises in flower in September, October and November....my idea is
that you will not! How sad! My roses will be blooming in those months also,
and every few years we will have a roses and rebloomers into the first couple
weeks of December (but just a few stragglers). I had my fourteen months
living in Syracuse and you will not entice me to your cold climes
again.....there isn't much to do in Syracuse between October and April if you
don't go in for snow and ice sports. So my wife and I became very religious
and spent a lot of time in church...oh, yes, we also had a baby just before
we moved back to Virginia. Iris people are very innovative. Clarence Mahan
in warm Virginia...but not too warm.
