Hi! On 8-18 you asked if anyone has a gardening CD that they like.
I like my Microsoft "Complete Gardening" cd. You can search for plants
according to various characteristics, i.e. light requirements, color, water
requirements, etc. in order to plan your garden according to the USDA zone
you live in. It has a section for diagnosing problems, also garden 'tours'
(pictures of gardens from various parts of the U.S. with a narrator (sound)
describing the garden & its features. Also a plant encyclopedia for just
looking up a plant, seeing a picture of it, and if you want, hearing its
latin name pronounced.
To run this program you need a 486/33 or higher and 8 mb of ram with Win 95
and 10 mb of hard disk space.
Incidentally, I'm new to this list and have been making lots of notes about
Iris culture. I planted my first TB's and some Siberians this year and they
all seemed to thrive on my abuse & neglect. We do live in a very easy
growing area though (Pacific N.W.) and have had nice weather this summer.
Anyway...looking forward to hearing what others have found along the line of
CD's (you can never have too many!)
