I really can't understand all the complaints about the West Coast iris not
growing on the East coast.. Following the MASS Medley Terri and I went to
Maine and saw the most beautiful Tall Bearded garden irises we have seen
all year.(except for mine-ha) With the exception of the Ford garden, I
don't believe any of our Sacramento convention gardens could come close.
Upon returning I discussed this with Tom Abrego (Schreiners) and he agreed.
We were both astonished.

I believe AIS is missing out if they can't get a June convention in New England.
We had such a great time with some of the nicest people we have ever met.
And thwere is so much to do and see. From my observation all types of iris
grow somewhere there.(and were in bloom) What other area of the country
offers this?

Jay Hudson -The Iris Gallery

On the sunny 65 degree north coast coast of California where its still 112
degrees one hour inland.
