I had to respond since I wrote the original post - I most emphatically
was not complaining about TB not growing in the East.....I apologize for
the post being rambling (incoherent ?).
I'm sure you got my post mixed up with all the other TB talkers (of which
I am not one).
New England would be a good place for a convention but I couldn't take part
because I am a full three weeks behind the folks in Massachusetts and
Southern NH and two to three weeks behind those in Maine....I am still in
Japanese iris season now and I have one JI that hasn't even bloomed yet.
Tomorrow for sure.
That really was the point of my post - the colder zones are less populated
and have no large cities and deliver no clout in AIS or elsewhere..but
we can have our own club...or should have to participate fully.
Also, I frankly am not enamoured of tall bearded iris and that was another
point of my post. People think of TB's as being THE iris....at least
in North America. I noticed you exclusively talked about them vis-a-vis
a convention.
