This is a splendid idea. Thanks for reacquainting me with an old friend! I
grew these years ago and had found out that they are not hardy here, but
they are so inexpensive and charming that they are worth treating as an
annual in colder climates or digging up the "bulbs" and storing them in
cedar bark or peat for the winter. Their color range is spectacular and
most welcome at this time of year. It may be worth leaving a few in the
ground to test for hardiness. I have had a big red gladiolus that is not
supposed to be hardy here in my garden for more than ten years.
