HIPS DataBank Support

A noticable number of subscribers to IRIS-L are utilizing the HIPS
DataBank to obtain sources for Historic Irises.

The HIPS DataBank has now been in operation for over seven (7) years.
The DB currently has over 3,400 varieties including 1,500+ 'rare'
varieties which, in the past, have been next to impossible to locate. The
DataBank is primarily used for seeking sources for Historic Irises. It
is Global and is updated weekly. This is a service provided by HIPS to
its members and to those serious Historic Iris collectors seeking sources.
I have been compiling and maintaining this listing since its inception
in 1989. It has been a rewarding experience. However, things have changed.

The purpose of this message is to make all participants of IRIS-L
aware of the fact that, effective August 1, 1996 and until further
notice, I am no longer involved with servicing this list..

I'm receiving an incredible number of requests via IRIS-L. So, I
wish to inform those who are giving my name as a source retrieval for
Historic Irises - that I will not be able to support those requests
passed on to me thru IRIS-L..
A young lady from DE, Joan Wood, is now the HIPS Data Collector.
However, she is not yet on-line therefore, please check with the HIPS
Journal *ROOTS* for up-to-date details for future requests. Her postal
address is: JOAN WOOD RT 2 BOX 772 FELTON, DE 19943
