I have found nothing that works, but my friend Hiroshi Shimizu says that
cooking the soil works, i.e. sterilizing it by cooking it.  Alfalfa pellets
help a little, but not much in the case of JIs.  One might try a product that
sterilizes the soil.  Clarence Mahan in VA
