I was just looking at the Fall '94 issue of The Review (JI)
and noticed that the ballots were honored if they had a postmark
of August 15th or earlier.
This current JI poll had a postmark closing date of August 10th.
I realize that probably no one except two or three (?) of us
has such a late JI bloom season but I wasn't even going to send
in a ballot until I decided that I have been a member of the
Japanese section for three years and this is the first time I
have voted....
There were 64 voters in 1994 and 56 voters in 1995. How many members
does the JI section have? A few hundred?
The comments in the Review are from mostly (if not all) from hy-
bridizers. I recognized most of the names and I don't know many
people in AIS. (I didn't recognize the two or three foreign names)
Maybe folks think that their vote doesn't matter....or they grow
under 20 Japanese (like me) and don't know enuf' to comment or
choose 10 to single out.....
Anyway, you can add New Hampshire for the first time to the list of
states and countries that sent in ballots.
I think we're another country up here.:-)
