It may have more to do with my treating them like tall bearded iris - leaving
them on the front porch for a week with the other rhizomes from the sale
until I got the tractor running and got them planted. My soil is an
excessively well drained organic gravelly loam. Some areas are more clayey -
there were three rhizomes, so I put them in 3 different microsites, and
promptly forgot where I put 2 of them. Maybe next year they will magically
reappear, but one definitely continued the shriveling it started on the
porch, and I can't find any unidentified plants anywhere else.
