Dennis:  This is true - BUT

The WNY Iris Society has been offering "your first year's dues in free iris"
for a number of years.  Yes, the membership swells by 30 at a clip - no, most
of them don't stay - but a small percentage DO become viable members... and I
believe that "free" offer was the nudge that got them involved!  Each year we
probably add 2 or 3 "worker bees" to our club... and THAT's good increase, in
MY book!
