Vantage is a powder that you water in after use. No damage to
iris, hosta, daylily, roses etc has been noticed after 3 years of use.
Of course as with all chemicals, use according to directions!!!

If you have an infestation I would agree, but for occasional
sprigs, if applied early in the spring, it will control it. Treflan 4G
and Surflan have been used in SW VA iris/hosta/daylily gardens since
1988 with no noticable effect in growth, vigor, or bloom.
I have also found that PREEN, which contains a small amount of Treflan
does not do a good enought job of weed control.
Round-up, while a good weed/grass killer will not always kill nut sedge
either. By far, Vantage when used according to directions is the best.
