Dennis has given you a good description.  In some parts of central Europe,
people apparently collect the nut sedge "nuts", let them dry, and grind them
into a flour for cooking. (Nut sedge does not seem to have a bad effect on
irises, even when surrounding them....and it is not unattractive as far as
