Robert - according to the WORLD OF IRISES, I. missouriensis is part of
the LONGIPETALAE family, and is similar to the ENSATAE. This is called
the "ROCKY MOUNTAIN IRIS".
The PCN's include the following species - bracteata, chrysophylla,
douglasiana, fernaldii, hartwegii, innominata, macrosiphon, munzii,
purdyi, tenax, tenuissima.
I can be quite sure that a PCN is not able to breed with a Louisiana, or
i think I. missouriensis. Hope this helps.
