The problem with planting TBs in tubs is that as the rhizomes increase
there isn't enough room for them to "spread out" properly, & they will
soon outgrow the space. Also, of course you can't get many plants into a
single tub no matter how large it is! I think tubs are OK as a temporary
"holding area", or maybe to showcase a special favorite for a single
season, then move it back into the garden. I've been thinking about
putting some of the dwarf types into my big cedar planters with spring
bulbs; seems like the smaller plants would work better than TBs.
And Sally, would you Please tell us what is a "beastly Berg Wind"???
wishing it were spring...
