Greetings Again!
I have placed an order with Jackson & Perkins for 5 IRIS FOETIDISSIMA. Although
the order was placed in early August they claim it will not be shipped to me
until 10/14/96. They have assured me that they ship according to zone and
would not beable to send it so late if it wouldn't survive. I have longed for
this interesting iris for quite a while but am concerned about putting it in
the garden so-o-o late in the Fall. We deffinately have frost by then. Have
any of you had any experience with this iris? Does it need more time to set
its roots for winter? How should this iris be treated as far as type of soil,
sunlight etc.?
Wishing for a little rain to make the brown grass green again!
