Re: On topic

Walter

Anne has provided the answer to your question concerning the alpine-l
which I would consider "on topic". I like the mention of other plants
and gardening on the list and irises are included as many of them grow
at very high altitudes in the mountains of south central Asia, China,
etc. They are also found in the US mountains as can be seen in the
review by B. Leroy Davidson in the NARGS volume "Rock Gardens of North
America".

My objections were directed at long series of messages about film stars
and others subjects such as Martha Stewart - who I inadvertently called
Martha Graham. I had never heard about until the debate about her on
iris-l.

Iris, related species, related botany and gardening, iris art, pesticide
chemistry, flower photography, etc surely that is enough for one list.
Minor cult characters in the US can have their own web site and probably
do.

This is just my opinion and I expressed it because the percentage of
trivia was rising exponentially. I assume because the irises have
stopped flowering in most regions.
