long term survival

Back in the early 70's I sent a Xerox copy of the '49 A.I.S. Check List
to a young iris grower in Las Cruces, N.M. As a thank you he sent me an
iris which was my first antique iris.. I brought that iris with me when
I moved to Oregon 10 years ago and I guess that I have grown it now for
at least 25 years. It was identified in '94, by Phil Edinger, as SWERTI
which, according to the '39 Check List, dates back to 1612.

Thanks Tom for 25 years of beauty.
