Rusty,
Joe Gatty passed on about 5 years ago. Joe specialized in hybridizing
pink iris and had numerous awards for them. He did not limit himself
only to this color but did blues, variegatas, yellows. He also
hybridized for medians with perhaps RARE EDITION being the most famous.
Some say it should have won the Dykes Medal.
Mary Dunn is alive but not well. I believe she has some form of that
dreaded disease cancer. However I do see her at iris events and she
remains alert and chipper.
