Mine are like ten inches. They need some length so they won't
heave out in the winter. Also I use a paint pen from the Wal*Mart craft
department. The writing lasts much longer than a grease pencil.
Also, the mini blinds cost about $5.98 at Wal*Mart. Old metal
ones will rust.
