Maureen asked "Does anyone know of any book that provides the genetics
of each species,i.e., chromosome counts?"
The new BIS book "A Guide to Species Irises" identifies the chromosome
count of many of the species but it points out that "...chromosome
counts do not exist for a number of well-known species and that a lot
more work on karyotypes would e useful" This is particularly importnat
as many "species" are natural hy rids.
