John I. Jones in a letter to Cecilia suggested useing 12 " sticks, among
other things to keep dogs out of the Iris bed.
The sticks may work on the dogs but small children always get into
places they should not.
If a small chid fell into the iris bed this could be a disasterous
ending.
A small child could just as easily get tangled in fishing line too.
Since the repellant works I would prefer it to protect the children.
Remember it is nearly impossible to keep track 100% of the time of a
child whether your own or the neighbors.
