This brought back memories. Some of the varieties Gayla listed were grown
by me in the mid 1950's, and were semi-classics then. I've relied on
memory to describe a few of them..

Dykes winner sometime in the 40s? Small flowers, tall stalks, dark violet,
an early "black"

Also a Dykes? Blend of tan, yellow with a blue or violet blaze below the
beard, also remember it as small-flowered with tall stalks

Famous arilbred (1/4). Oyster-white standards and greenish tan falls, with
rounded form and large flowers. Beard dark brown.
