At your latitude I think you could get by with only 4 hours of direct
sun and high shade the rest of the time. Less than this and no flowers senor.
Some High Shade is desirable in Hot climates - makes it easier to keep the bed
moist etc.

Something I forgot to ask earlier...
Do siberians like the shade? I've got a really shady, sandy area under
a bunch of pine trees in my back yard. Would they like to spend the
winter there? What about next summer?
